Are my files uploaded to a server?
For the vast majority of tools, no. They run entirely in your browser using the Canvas, Web Crypto and pdf-lib APIs, so your files never leave your device. The few tools that need a server are clearly marked.
Do I need an account?
No. Every core tool works with no sign-up. An account is only needed for features that save data to the cloud, like dynamic QR codes you can edit later.
How big can my files be?
On the free plan you can process files up to 25 MB and up to 10 at once. Because tools run locally, the real limit is your device’s memory. Paid plans raise these limits.
Which file formats are supported?
Images support JPG, PNG and WebP; PDF tools accept standard PDFs; QR and text tools work with plain text and links. Each tool lists exactly what it accepts.
Is Tooldrop really free?
Yes. The core tools are free forever. We offer optional paid plans for larger files and future server-side tools, but you never have to pay to use the essentials.
Does Tooldrop work offline?
Once the page has loaded, browser-based tools keep working even if your connection drops, because the processing happens on your device.
